Drew Graham and Team Gym Possible are gearing up for an extraordinary Guinness World Record attempt! In an inspiring show of determination and teamwork, a team of six friends will push Drew in his wheelchair in the 2025 Great North Run, a half marathon distance, aiming to set the World Record for the Fastest half marathon pushing a wheelchair by a team (male).
After completing the distance in just over 2:00 in 2023 and an impressive 1:26 in 2024, Drew and his team are now motivated to attempt to go as close to 1:15 as they can, and set the Guinness World Record- this will be a huge challenge. The World Record attempt is not just about speed, but about showcasing the power of friendship, willpower and inclusivity. With Gym Possible’s mission to redefine what’s possible for people of all abilities at the heart of the challenge, we aim to break barriers and prove anyone can do what they set out to achieve.
The attempt will take place in the Great North Run on the 7th September 2025 and all fund raising proceeds from the World Record attempt will go to Drew’s charity, Gym Possible. Guinness World Records have officially recognised the attempt and the record will be ratified once we submit our evidence from the 2025 Great North Run.
